The opening of the festival is going to be a gala with all the aspects of the harp, the audience could imagine. The harp is going to be presented solo and in relation with other instruments, even with dance and acting. The instrument embodies its versatility by performing different genres of music, up to contemporary tracks and improvisations.
All together we will open a new chapter of music history in Switzerland and create an unforgettable experience.

“A Beautiful Mind” is the concert of two young harpists from Russia and Switzerland. Their musical talent brought them beyond imagination. Two girls with a different fate, but already a high professional experience and recognition all around the world, will perform their favorite pieces by famous classical composers from different countries.
This concert is directed to all our students, to encourage them, despite age, to go forward with their musical activity.

The Dutch harpist Remy van Kesteren is an internationally known artist and a legend in his home country. His contemporary compositions are complex and multilayered, but light and floating as well, as he demonstrates again on his latest album “Shadows”. Remy will perform his solo show on the electric “Delta” harp as well as on his signature electro-acoustic “Reus 49” harp, both created by Salvi. This concert is designed for musical explorers, who want to get new experience and learn about the new circles of the evolution of the most antic and most modern instrument.

With Park Stickney, the Harp Festival Zurich got the awesome experience of Jazz on the harp.
Despite worldwide engagement as harpist and composer, Park is a professor of music theory at the Conservatory of Lyon and guest-professor of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. His repertoire, performed on the “Rainbow” harp by Salvi, has a wide range from Jazz-standards over own compositions to remakes and experiments.

The Grand Gala "Open Stage" will bring the Music Conservatories of Switzerland together. It will be the ideal place to dive into the versatile world of the Swiss Harp. Luzern, Lugano, Geneva, Basel, and Lausanne will be represented by their Professors and Students at the Zurich University of Arts. At the Toni Arial, one of the most innovative music institutions in Europa, Harp Duos, Harp Trios, Harp Quartets and even an ensemble of 8 Harps will make music history!
Special Guest of the evening will be Swiss jazz-band "The Eyebrows of Death".
With the help of the Swiss Harp Association and the Musical Olympus Foundation we will create a memorable evening for audiences and performers alike.

While attempting to live simultaneously in Brooklyn and on a farm in Switzerland, harpist Park Stickney is constantly in motion, traveling across Europe, the U.S. and Asia, as a soloist and teacher, as well as with a variety of ensembles whose music ranges from jazz to classical to rock. He’s performed and taught in nearly every harp festival that exists, from Adelaide to Zaragoza, often several times, has played Wagner with the Berlin Philharmonic (as a jazz harpist disguised as a classical harpist), accepting the offer at the same event to play a solo jazz concert for the Philharmonic’s lunchtime series which has a capacity audience of 1200.

TJASHA GAFNER
Tjasha Gafner has received several 1st prize awards at Swiss Music Contests and many other international distinctions, such as 2nd prize at the Concours Lily Laskine in Paris and 1st prize awards at the Felix Godefroid Competition in Belgium, Concorso Suoni d’Arpa in Milan, the Concours Martine Géliot in Fontainebleau and the Concours du Jura. She regularly gives solo recitals and takes part in Festivals in France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. Tjasha has given a variety of radio and television presentations, as recently as at the Génération Jeunes Interprètes of France Musique in Paris. Her first CD was recorded in April 2018.

Sadikova has performed as a solo artist at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall New York, CiTonhalle in Zürich, Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic, and the Moscow International House of Music. She has performed with several famous orchestras, such as the Moscow Virtuosi under Maestro Vladimir Spivakov, the Symphony Orchestra Klangforum Schweiz in Zürich and Bern, the Symphony Orchestra in Vienna, the Philharmonic Orchestra Gioachino Rossini in Italy, and the International Symphony Orchestra Taurida. Sadikova is also the winner of several Harp Competitions, and a participant in many famous Festivals.
